The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced the opening of applications for the promotion of qualified teachers and officers to higher ranks within the service.
The exercise covers four categories: Deputy Director, Assistant Director I, Assistant Director II, and Principal Superintendent. According to the Service, the process is open strictly to serving teachers who meet the required criteria.
To be eligible:

Deputy Director: Applicants must have attained the rank of Assistant Director I in or before 2020 and have been continuously at post since then, except for approved leave.

Assistant Director I: Applicants must have held the rank of Assistant Director II in or before 2020 under the same conditions.

Assistant Director II: Applicants must have been promoted to Principal Superintendent in or before 2020.

Principal Superintendent: Applicants must have been promoted to Senior Superintendent I in or before 2020. Teachers who have completed an approved undergraduate degree also qualify automatically for this level.
GES further indicated that teachers applying with Master’s or PhD degrees must ensure their programmes were part of the approved GES course of study. Certificates must not have been obtained before their last promotion, and only those acquired on or before 2022 will be considered for promotion to Assistant Director I, Assistant Director II, and Deputy Director ranks.
