AGI and German-African Business Association Sign MoU to Boost Trade and Industrial Collaboration

The Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) and the German-African Business Association have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at deepening trade ties, industrial innovation, and knowledge exchange between Ghana and Germany.

The agreement was formalized during the Ghana–German Business Roundtable held at the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) in Accra. The event brought together a high-level German business delegation and key Ghanaian stakeholders, with Hon. Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, leading the Ghanaian delegation.

Under the new partnership, both associations pledged to promote bilateral trade and investment opportunities, enhance collaboration in innovation and technology, and encourage sustainable industrial growth across both economies.

Representatives from the two associations noted that the MoU would pave the way for concrete joint initiatives, business exchanges, and collaborative industrial projects.

Speaking after the signing ceremony, a representative of the German-African Business Association described the partnership as “a direct collaboration to promote innovation, knowledge sharing, and joint activities between both sides.” He also highlighted that the agreement builds on ongoing cooperation, referencing an EU-funded German company currently operating from the AGI offices in Accra, which supports local industries with solar energy solutions.

The Ghana–German Business Roundtable provided a vital platform for participants to discuss trade opportunities, share experiences, and explore new avenues for mutual growth. The engagement is expected to further strengthen Ghana–Germany economic relations, positioning both nations to leverage innovation and sustainable industry as drivers of shared prosperity.
