A 15 year old Basic Education Certificate Examination candidate gave birth in the middle of her ICT paper and returned to continue her exams.
Speaking in an exclusive interview, the girl said she was determined to set an example to her child not to stop dreaming.
The incident occurred at the Asenua Presby School examination center in the Ashanti Region, on Wednesday, June 11, 2025. Eye witnesses say the girl complained of cramps and requested to use the washroom. A police officer assigned to the centre escorted her, only to realise she was already in labour.
She was then moved to the headmaster’s office, where she delivered a healthy baby boy with the assistance from staff at the centre.
The head pastor in charge of Asenua Presby Church, Rev. Kennedy Opoku then rushed the girl to a private hospital where the girl and her baby were safely attended to.
Resilient as she is, the young mother came back to the examination center the following day to continue with the rest of her papers.
