Notse Nii Nortey Owuo IV, Chief of Osu, has called on Ghanaians to recommit themselves to building a literate and critically minded society.
In a statement on his Facebook page, the Chief underscored the importance of education as a foundation for national progress, stressing that literacy and critical thinking are vital tools for shaping responsible citizens and future leaders.
“Let us all reaffirm our commitment to building a literate citizenry endowed with the skills of critical thinking. Let us commit to African excellence and achievement,” he said.
Nii Nortey Owuo IV urged students to embrace hard work and discipline, noting that thriving and excelling are timeless values that remain relevant in today’s world. His message, rooted in the pursuit of knowledge and achievement, emphasized that education must continue to serve as a cornerstone of Ghana’s cultural and socio-economic development.
He concluded his statement with the Osu expression of goodwill, “Omanye!” — symbolizing peace, progress, and prosperity.
