Health Minister Kwabena Mintah Akandoh and Inspector General of Police Christian Tetteh Yohuno have received DNA reports from South Africa confirming the identities of the victims of the August 6 military helicopter crash.
Following the tragic incident, samples from the remains of all eight victims were sent to South Africa on August 7 for forensic DNA analysis to ensure accurate identification ahead of official burials.
The results for Environment Minister Dr. Murtala Mohammed and Deputy National Security Coordinator Alhaji Lumina Muniru were received electronically on Saturday, August 9, confirming their identities. This paved the way for their burial in accordance with Islamic tradition on Sunday, August 10.
