Ahead of the presentation of the 2026 Budget Statement, Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson has engaged traders at Takoradi’s Market Circle as part of his ongoing stakeholder consultations across the country.

Dr. Forson described his interaction with the market women as the highlight of his visit to the Western Region, noting that the discussions were both humbling and inspiring.
“It was clear that our efforts to stabilise the economy are beginning to bear fruit,” the Minister said after the meeting. “Many spoke of easing prices, renewed confidence, and a growing sense that the tide is finally turning in their favour.”
The engagement forms part of the government’s broader effort to ensure that the upcoming 2026 Budget reflects the realities, hopes, and expectations of ordinary Ghanaians.

During the session, the Minister listened to traders’ concerns on inflation, market infrastructure, and access to credit — key issues expected to shape aspects of next year’s fiscal policy.
Dr. Ato Forson is scheduled to present the 2026 Budget Statement and Economic Policy to Parliament on Thursday, November 13, 2025.

The government says the consultation process will continue in other regions to ensure inclusivity and transparency in shaping Ghana’s economic direction for the coming year.
