The Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture Development, in collaboration with its partners, is bringing together Chief Fishermen and Fish Queen Fishmongers from Ghana’s four coastal regions to reaffirm a shared commitment to protecting the nation’s seas, rivers, and the livelihoods that depend on them.
The engagement aims to strengthen collaboration among traditional fishing leaders, policymakers, and industry stakeholders in promoting sustainable fishing practices and ensuring the long-term prosperity of Ghana’s fisheries sector.
Through this initiative, the Ministry seeks to deepen community participation in the protection of marine resources and the responsible management of aquatic ecosystems.
The Ministry emphasized that the partnership underscores a collective vision: “Let’s work together for a sustainable and prosperous future for our fisheries sector.”
This renewed collaboration reflects Ghana’s determination to balance economic opportunity with environmental stewardship, ensuring that future generations benefit from the nation’s rich aquatic heritage.
