Gender Ministry Vows Action on All Abuse Cases

The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection (MoGCSP) has issued a strong assurance to the public that it is taking decisive action on all reported cases of abuse, following a rise in videos and reports circulating on social media.

In a statement, the Ministry emphasized that every tip-off, whether based on recent incidents or older footage, is treated with utmost seriousness. It commended citizens for their vigilance and encouraged the public to continue reporting cases to help protect vulnerable groups across the country.

According to the Ministry, several victims captured in recent viral reports are already receiving psychosocial and legal support, with some placed in safe shelters where necessary. This assistance is being provided in close collaboration with the Police, civil society organizations and other agencies working to combat violence.

The Ministry further assured that thorough investigations are being conducted into each case to ensure that perpetrators are held accountable. It stressed that crime has no expiration and that no act of abuse will be overlooked.

To promote transparency, the Ministry announced that periodic updates will be provided as investigations progress. It urged the public to use official reporting channels—including the Domestic Violence Call Centre (0800-111-222) and the Helpline of Hope call centre (0800-800-800 / 0800-900-900)—or contact the nearest police station to report any suspected case of abuse.

The statement underscored that protecting vulnerable individuals is a collective responsibility and that public action remains critical in confronting all forms of violence and exploitation.
