Groupe Nduom has pledged GHS 20,000 in cash, as well as media support to improve sanitation in the Komenda Edina Eguafo Abrem (KEEA) Municipality.
The announcement was made at a stakeholders’ meeting organized by the Municipal Assembly. Speaking on behalf of Groupe Nduom, the General Manager of Coconut Grove Beach Resort, Mr. Victor Opoku Minta, commended the Assembly for its innovative efforts in managing sanitation.
He noted that sanitation issues directly affect public health, development, and businesses, adding that Groupe Nduom companies have consistently supported clean-up exercises in communities over the years by providing items such as gloves, wheelbarrows, rakes, and cutlasses. Mr. Opoku Minta encouraged other companies in the area to support the Assembly in its sanitation drive.
It will be recalled that the Global Chairman of Groupe Nduom, Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom, had earlier assured the Municipal Chief Executive of the company’s support to help meet the clean city target set by President John Dramani Mahama for all MMDCEs.
The Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Ismail Zagoon-Saeed, expressed appreciation to Groupe Nduom for the support and pledged to work closely with stakeholders to ensure a cleaner municipality. He disclosed that the Assembly is putting in place structures to enhance public education and engagement on sanitation.
The Member of Parliament for KEEA, Hon. Samuel Atta Mills, also thanked stakeholders for their support. He assured the Assembly of his commitment to help make KEEA one of the cleanest municipalities in the country. Hon. Atta Mills further appealed to residents to desist from indiscriminate dumping of refuse and to support the sanitation campaign.
