Miss International Africa Visits Ghana to Deepen Cultural and Tourism Collaboration

The Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie, has hosted Miss International Africa 2024, Akysanna Veisa, during a courtesy visit aimed at strengthening cultural exchange, tourism partnership, and youth empowerment between Ghana and Cape Verde. 🇬🇭🤝🇨🇻

Miss Veisa, who currently serves as an ambassador for Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 1 – No Poverty and SDG 4 – Quality Education, was accompanied by Miss Nereida Lobo, founder of the Little Crown Foundation. The Foundation has been instrumental in supporting educational initiatives in Ghana since 2017, particularly those focused on empowering children and young women through access to learning and mentorship opportunities.

Welcoming the delegation, Hon. Dzifa Gomashie commended the two women for their leadership, compassion, and dedication to social impact. She praised their cross-cultural efforts as a model of Pan-African cooperation rooted in shared values of progress and empowerment.

“Culture and tourism remain powerful bridges of unity and development,” Hon. Gomashie said. “Through collaborations like this, we can create lasting connections that empower our youth, strengthen communities, and promote Africa’s image globally.”

Miss Veisa expressed her admiration for Ghana’s rich cultural heritage and hospitality, noting that Ghana and Cape Verde share deep historical and cultural bonds that should be celebrated and leveraged for mutual development.

The visit underscored the Ministry’s commitment to using culture and tourism as catalysts for inclusion, empowerment, and sustainable growth, while inspiring the next generation of African leaders to drive positive change through creativity and service.
