MTN Ghana has reaffirmed its commitment to promoting Ghanaian culture and tradition with a pledge to make this year’s Oguaa Fetu Afahye truly memorable. As part of its support, the telecom giant will host a gaming night on Friday and a musical concert on Saturday at Chapel Square to entertain festival patrons.
Speaking to the media in Cape Coast on Wednesday, the Western and Central Regional Manager of MTN, Prince Owusu Nyarko, announced that the company had presented GHC 30,000 to the Oguaa Traditional Council and an additional GHC 40,000 to the Afahye Planning Committee to facilitate the smooth running of the festival.
“We are here today to wish the Omanhen and the people of Cape Coast a successful festival. MTN has a longstanding relationship with the traditional council, and every Afahye, we come to pay homage. Beyond the donations, we are giving customers attending Oguaa a special data offer and organizing fun activities to make this year’s celebration exciting,” Mr. Owusu Nyarko noted.
MTN Ghana also presented GHC 2,000 worth of airtime and a drink hamper to the Oguaa Traditional Council as part of the package.
The company emphasized that as an African brand, it strongly believes in the power of culture and tradition as vehicles for unity, identity, and development. By supporting festivals such as Oguaa Fetu Afahye, MTN says it is not only investing in community celebrations but also strengthening cultural heritage for generations to come.
