Ghana has reaffirmed its commitment to deepening economic cooperation with Germany as the Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Hon Elizabeth Ofosu Adjare, engaged the German Delegation at the ongoing Government to Government Negotiations between the two countries.

The discussions, held on Tuesday 2nd December 2025 in Accra, brought together the Minister and the Head of the German Delegation, Christoph Rauh, from the Directorate Africa of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development. The session formed part of a broader bilateral negotiation process aimed at strengthening long standing relations and identifying new pathways for mutual growth.
Hon Ofosu Adjare underscored Ghana’s readiness to work closely with Germany to advance key national priorities in trade facilitation, industrial expansion, agribusiness development and private sector competitiveness. She emphasized that Ghana’s current economic reforms and renewed focus on value addition provide an ideal platform for deeper cooperation and joint investment initiatives.

The Minister noted that enhanced collaboration with Germany would help accelerate industrial transformation, support the growth of small and medium enterprises, promote sustainable agricultural value chains and open more channels for technology transfer and skills development. She expressed confidence that the ongoing negotiations would produce concrete commitments that directly benefit Ghanaian businesses and create new employment opportunities for the youth.
For his part, Christoph Rauh reaffirmed Germany’s interest in supporting Ghana as a reliable partner in West Africa. He highlighted areas where both countries can intensify cooperation, including renewable energy, technical training, digital innovation and sustainable economic development.
The engagement set a positive tone for the broader negotiation sessions, which continue to focus on aligning development priorities with actionable partnerships capable of delivering measurable results.
As Ghana and Germany work toward a strengthened bilateral framework, the Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry remains committed to championing investment and collaboration that advance Ghana’s long term economic transformation agenda.
