The University for Development Studies (UDS) has hosted a delegation from the Durban University of Technology (DUT) Business School, South Africa, in a working visit aimed at exploring strategic collaboration between the two institutions.

Led by Prof. Innocent Simphiwe Nojiyezia, Head of Research and Innovation at DUT, the team met with UDS Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Seidu Al-hassan, to discuss joint initiatives, particularly in climate-change research and practical community solutions.
Prof. Nojiyezia highlighted DUT’s strong interest in partnering with UDS, stating that combining their strengths could lead to impactful interventions addressing the urgent global challenge of climate change.
Welcoming the delegation, Prof. Al-hassan emphasised the wealth of climate-related data generated through UDS’s signature Third Trimester Field Practical Programme (TTFPP). “Our students have produced rich evidence on climate vulnerabilities across communities. This provides a strong platform for meaningful research collaboration,” he said.

He commended DUT’s proactive approach to climate action and assured full support from UDS in driving joint research, innovation, and community-focused solutions across Africa.
As a gesture of goodwill, UDS presented the delegation with branded laptop bags to commemorate the visit. Both institutions expressed optimism about building a partnership that advances sustainable development, knowledge exchange, and impactful research on the continent.
