A two-member delegation from the University for Development Studies (UDS), led by Vice-Chancellor Professor Seidu Al-Hassan and accompanied by Professor Eliasu Alhassan, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, has represented the University at three major international conferences in China.

The first of these events, the 2025 World University Presidents Forum, took place from 7–10 November 2025 in Hangzhou. The forum was hosted by Zhejiang University in collaboration with the China Association of Higher Education (CAHE) and brought together university leaders from over 40 countries.
This year’s discussions focused on the theme, “Artificial Intelligence and the Future of Higher Education.” Professor Seidu Al-Hassan participated as a panel discussant, sharing perspectives on the role of AI in promoting educational access, research productivity, and innovation in developing countries.
His contribution also touched on key forum themes, including the AI-driven transformation of scientific research, digital inclusion in higher education, and governance innovation for universities navigating the digital era.
The UDS delegation’s participation underscores the University’s growing engagement in global academic discourse and its commitment to advancing technological and research collaboration with international institutions.
