Management of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), in collaboration with the Local Organising Committee (LOC) for the 29th Ghana University Sports Association (GUSA) Games, has held a high-level engagement with GUSA National Executives to assess the University’s preparedness to host the upcoming Games.

The meeting, held on Tuesday, 16th December, 2025, focused on reviewing key aspects of planning, including event timelines, infrastructure readiness, funding strategies, and logistical arrangements, as part of efforts to ensure a successful multi-sport event.
Discussions also examined ongoing and planned infrastructure developments required to meet GUSA standards, as well as strategies to mobilise resources to support the smooth execution of the Games.

Management of UEW used the engagement to reaffirm the University’s commitment to hosting a well-organised and memorable GUSA Games, highlighting its readiness to collaborate closely with the GUSA leadership and other stakeholders.
The GUSA National Executives commended UEW for the preparatory efforts so far and emphasised the importance of sustained coordination to ensure the Games meet national expectations.
The 29th GUSA Games are expected to bring together student-athletes from universities across the country, promoting sportsmanship, unity, and youth development within Ghana’s tertiary education sector.
