The Youth Employment Agency (YEA), under the leadership of Chief Executive Officer Malik Basintale, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Islamic Education Unit to launch the Arabic Teachers Module.
Mr. Basintale announced that the initiative will begin with the recruitment of 3,000 teachers nationwide in its first phase. He added that the partnership will not only enhance the teaching of Arabic but also provide sustainable employment opportunities. “Our vision is that by the end of the current government’s four-year term, about 200,000 teachers will have been recruited and supported with government funds, ensuring they are motivated to deliver quality education,” he stated.
The General Manager of the Islamic Education Unit, Mr. Abdul-Karim Bapuni, expressed gratitude to the President and YEA for prioritizing the welfare of Islamic teachers. He noted that many teachers in the sector had long felt underpaid and discouraged, but the initiative has restored hope and recognition.
In his closing remarks, Mr. Basintale expressed appreciation for the support received and urged Ghanaians to encourage Islamic teachers for the collective benefit of the nation. He further called on the Islamic community to continue praying for His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, affirming the President’s commitment to both the Islamic community and the country at large.
