The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced that the nationwide school placement exercise for 2025 will begin on Wednesday, September 17, following the release of provisional results for the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
Speaking at a media briefing on Wednesday, August 27, the Director-General of GES, Professor Ernest Kofi Davis, said successful candidates are expected to report to their respective senior high schools between October 18 and 20.
Professor Davis explained that this year’s placement exercise has been redesigned to reduce errors and ensure greater transparency. As part of the process, a review window has been introduced to allow candidates to verify their details on the Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) portal, www.csses.gov.gh.
The GES Director-General also cautioned parents and candidates against paying money to middlemen to influence school placement, stressing that the process is strictly based on merit and the established selection procedure.
