A Senior Lecturer at the Department of Medical Laboratory Science, University of Cape Coast (UCC), Dr. David Larbi Simpong, has been selected for the 2025 Atlantic Fellows for Equity in Brain Health fellowship at the Global Brain Health Institute (GBHI), University of California, San Francisco (UCSF).
The highly competitive fellowship brings together outstanding emerging leaders from across the world and connects them with a global network of renowned researchers, faculty, and clinicians who are committed to advancing brain health equity.
Dr. Simpong’s selection places him among a distinguished cohort of fellows who will receive advanced training, mentorship, and opportunities to collaborate on innovative solutions addressing brain health challenges worldwide.
The fellowship is regarded as one of the leading global initiatives dedicated to tackling issues of dementia, cognitive decline, and brain health disparities, especially in underrepresented communities.
His achievement not only highlights individual excellence but also brings recognition to UCC and Ghana’s growing contribution to global health research and innovation.
