The Ashanti Kingdom is bidding farewell to its Queen Mother, Nana Konadu Yiadom III, as her final funeral rites unfold at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi.
Nana Konadu Yiadom III, who passed away at dawn on August 7, 2025, is being honored with a series of traditional ceremonies befitting her status as Queen Mother of Asanteman.
As part of the observance, several shops and businesses across Kumasi have closed, reflecting the city’s deep respect and mourning for the revered royal figure.
