The Ghana Education Service (GES) has removed Mr. Charles Akwasi Aidoo, Assistant Headmaster (Academic) of KNUST Senior High School, from office following the circulation of a viral social media video allegedly involving him in a compromised situation with a female student.
In a statement issued on September 29, 2025, and signed by Daniel Fenyi, Head of Public Relations, GES described the development as a matter of utmost seriousness. The Service emphasized its commitment to protecting students’ safety and welfare, while safeguarding the integrity of the teaching profession.
GES confirmed that Mr. Aidoo has not only been relieved of his duties but also prohibited from returning to the school pending thorough investigations.
The statement assured parents, stakeholders, and the public that due process will be followed and that appropriate disciplinary action will be taken in line with the Service’s code of conduct.
“The GES remains committed to upholding the highest standards of professionalism, discipline, and child protection in all our schools. We strongly condemn any acts that compromise the safety, dignity, and wellbeing of students,” the release noted.
This decision comes as part of broader efforts by the Ghana Education Service to reinforce discipline and maintain public trust in the country’s education system.
