Ghana and Colombia have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cultural and creative ties following a courtesy call by the Chargé d’Affaires of the Colombian Embassy in Ghana, Ms. Kelis Zulay Moreno Mosquera, on the Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie.
The meeting, held in Accra, focused on deepening bilateral collaboration in culture and the creative arts, with particular attention on Ghana’s participation in upcoming international cultural events.

A key highlight of the discussions was the Festival of Traditional Music, a vibrant cultural platform that celebrates African and Colombian heritage through rhythm, dance, and storytelling. The two officials also explored Ghana’s participation in the 2026 International Book Festival in Colombia, which will feature a special focus on African literature and artistic expression.
Hon. Gomashie commended the Colombian Embassy for its continued efforts to foster mutual understanding and people-to-people connections between the two nations. She emphasized that cultural diplomacy remains central to Ghana’s foreign relations strategy, as it promotes unity, creativity, and shared development.
“Cultural exchange is a bridge that connects our people beyond politics and geography,” Hon. Gomashie said. “Ghana remains committed to building global partnerships that empower artists, preserve heritage, and promote innovation in the creative sector.”
Ms. Moreno Mosquera, for her part, expressed appreciation for Ghana’s hospitality and reaffirmed Colombia’s readiness to collaborate in projects that enhance cultural education, tourism, and artistic development.
