At the ongoing 26th UN Tourism General Assembly in Riyadh, Ghana joined global leaders in exploring how Artificial Intelligence (AI) can transform the future of tourism.
The special session, themed “UN Tourism Tech Adventure,” highlighted groundbreaking AI-driven tools designed to enhance travel planning, destination discovery, and visitor experiences worldwide.

Representing Ghana, Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie, Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, expressed satisfaction that agencies under her Ministry are already integrating AI systems in line with UN Tourism’s global vision and President John Mahama’s “Black Star Experience” agenda.
She reaffirmed Ghana’s commitment to harnessing technology and innovation to drive sustainable tourism growth, emphasizing the role of digital transformation in promoting Ghana as a competitive and inclusive travel destination.
Hon. Gomashie also called for stronger partnerships between the public and private sectors to advance AI adoption across Ghana’s hospitality and creative industries, noting that innovation remains key to enhancing visitor engagement and economic resilience.
Ghana’s participation in the General Assembly underscores its growing role in shaping Africa’s digital tourism landscape and supporting the global shift toward smart, sustainable travel.
