Chief Justice Pays Courtesy Call on Education Ministry to Strengthen Institutional Collaboration

The Chief Justice of the Republic of Ghana, His Lordship Paul Kwadwo Baffoe-Bonnie, on Tuesday paid a courtesy call on the Ministry of Education in Accra as part of efforts to deepen collaboration between the Judiciary and the education sector.

He was accompanied by the Attorney-General and Minister for Justice, Dr. Dominic Akuritinga Ayine, Justice Gabriel Scott Pwamang, and Dr. Raymond A. Atuguba.

The visit provided an opportunity for high-level discussions on issues of mutual interest, with particular focus on the role of education in promoting justice, the rule of law, and national development.

Addressing officials of the Ministry, the Chief Justice underscored the importance of legal education, civic responsibility, and ethical training within Ghana’s educational system. He noted that nurturing a well-informed and civically conscious citizenry is critical to sustaining democracy and fostering respect for the rule of law.

According to him, early exposure to legal principles and civic values helps instill a culture of accountability, fairness, and peaceful coexistence, which are essential for national progress.

The engagement forms part of broader efforts by the Judiciary to strengthen inter-institutional partnerships and support educational reforms that contribute to good governance and democratic stability.

Both institutions expressed commitment to continued collaboration aimed at integrating justice-oriented values into education policies and programmes for the benefit of present and future generations.
