Daniel Amartey Hails Hearts of Oak’s Kpobiman Project: “This is the Future”

Ghanaian international Daniel Amartey has hailed Hearts of Oak’s newly built Kpobiman training complex as a “European-standard” facility after touring the site on Monday, July 21, 2025.

The former Leicester City defender, who is currently unattached, was visibly impressed with the scale and quality of the infrastructure. Speaking to the club’s media team, Amartey described the facilities as a major milestone for Ghanaian football and commended Hearts of Oak’s leadership, particularly Board Chairman Togbe Afede XIV, for their vision and commitment.

“I’m honestly blown away. This is the kind of infrastructure we dream of in Ghana,” Amartey said. “To see it here at Hearts of Oak shows just how much Togbe Afede XIV cares about the future of our football and our youth.”

He highlighted the attention to detail across the facility  from training pitches to player hostels describing it as a long-term investment that could transform not just the club, but Ghanaian football as a whole. “This is about building something that lasts,” he added. “The players who come through here will benefit the most, and in the end, Ghana as a whole stands to gain.”

While the club has faced recent struggles on the pitch, Amartey emphasized the importance of such infrastructure in laying a foundation for sustained success. He urged supporters to recognize the efforts being made behind the scenes and to rally behind the club’s leadership.

“This is what big clubs do  they plan and invest,” he said. “With this kind of vision, I believe Hearts can rise to the top again. The fans should really appreciate what Togbe Afede XIV is doing here and support him fully.”

The Kpobiman project has been a key pillar of Hearts of Oak’s long-term strategy, signaling a shift toward professionalized structures in Ghanaian football.
